About The Client
Hamble Yacht Services has been the number one boatyard facility on the Hamble River for coming up to 40 years.
What began as a small workshop has developed into a full service boat yard at a prime location in the heart of the UK’s boating hotspot. The established Port Hamble location offers customers a first-class service on the Hamble River.
Their expert and professional team offer a full range of services for storing, cleaning and maintaining boats and yachts.
The Client’s Problem
Hamble Yacht Services had an existing website that wasn’t generating any enquiries, and they were not able to make any updates to the content.
Their old site was very dated, wasn’t mobile device responsive, looked unappealing and did not showcase the high-quality services the boat yard had to offer its customers.
Certain pages and functionalities did not work correctly on the site, leaving the business looking unprofessional. The pricing structure was outdated, leaving customers frustrated and unable to obtain an accurate service quote.
The boatyard also offers office spaces and units that are available to rent. The client wanted to be able to show the availability to potential tenants without paying expensive agent fees.
The Propeld Solution
Propeld worked with Hamble Yacht Services to produce a website that engages with their customers and manages the complications of generating accurate estimates for their service offerings.Â
To do this, we developed a series of online calculators to price their various services based on the size of the customer’s boat. The estimates were then emailed to the customer and to HYS to follow up on the enquiry.
The site also needed to list the other tenants located at the dock and available, so we developed a listing system that could be filtered based on the business category to promote each venue.
To list available units onsite, we developed a property listing section with the ability to enquire online.
The website boasts other functionalities such as local weather and tide information and a live webcam so sailors can check current conditions. We also designed a marina plan of the facilities and available docks.
